No Return...

I have dried the tears of others

Even when they've caused my own

I have loyally kept them company

Whilst they've let me walk alone

I have listened to their heartaches

When they've had no ear for mine

I have moved my world to suit them

Yet been denied their time

I have taken on their worries

Despite mine weighing me down

I have handed them a lifeline

As they've stood by and watched me drown

I have respected their opinions

They've held mine with disregard

Why do I strive to make their lives easier

Whilst they delight in making mine hard?

Oblivion...

How loud the laughter

That masks the cry

How torrential the tears

Behind the smile

How sad it is

So many believe

Things are only

As they see.

Sands Of Time...

Through a dead man's eyes

Spill the sands of time

How swiftly they fall and scatter

Be sure to treasure every grain

Before you no longer matter

Paved With Misery...

And the streets are paved

With misery

Traversed by the weary

In search of solace

Already knowing

There is none to be found

A Web Of Tears...

Through tears of sorrow

How soft the web we weave

It's tender threads a cushion

And a comfort as we grieve.
